WHY 84 POINT COFFEE?
Just like wine, Specialty Coffee is cupped, judged and scored for quality on a 100 points scale. Only 5% of the entire world’s coffee harvest is good enough to score over 80 Points, the official quality line for Specialty Coffee. At 84 Point Coffee, our commitment to you is to only serve coffees that score over 84 Points, which represents the absolute pinnacle of the world’s coffee supply.
Our founder, Russell Hayward, a Licensed Q Grader, is one of a select few coffee professionals from around the world that are trained and certified to cup and score Arabica coffee. Russell regularly scores coffees here in the US, as well as in coffee producing countries around the world. He cups every coffee served at 84 Point to ensure it’s quality is high enough for us to proudly serve at our cafes.
Once selected, our coffee is roasted by the skilled roasting crew at Ascension Coffee Roasters, headed by Aubrey Warden and overseen by Russell, our Master Roaster.
